We're doing our best to stop oil imports by returning to

STEAM!!!

With more than six
years of restoration
work behind us,
American Locomotive
Company (ALCo) 2-8-0
#18 returned to active
service...

MAY 24TH, 2008

Our passenger excursions are also powered by one of our two World War II era diesel-electric locomotives, which are also used weekly in our freight operations. Both engines were built by General Electric at their locomotive facility in Erie, PA. The 44-ton centercab No111 was built in 1947 and delivered new to the Arcade & Attica Railroad. No112 was built in 1945 and delivered to the United States Navy. The A&A purchased the engine from the City of Colorado Springs Railroad in 1988 to supplement the ailing engine No111. Today, No111 has been returned to full operation.

We're Ready .......

JT's Mission Come True

With the help of Good Morning America and Michael Moloney and Paige Hemmis of Extreme Makeover Home Edition, J.T. Robertson, watched his dream of making the Arcade and Attica Railroad more handicapped accessible for people in wheelchairs. At right, Mitchell Ling of the A & A, was conductor for the day's event. A Proudman boy, who attends Springville Learning Center, was one of the first to ride in the new handicapped accessible train car. In one of the the photos below, J.T.’s mom, Monica Simons, thanks Good Morning America for helping to make her son’s dream come true. In another photo Senator Dale Volker can be seen talking with the Extreme Home Makeover stars. Photos bottom right show the CYC Volunteers, who worked tirelessly day and night, to ready the station for "showtime"! Bottom left: The A & A crews and Maple Grove Enterprises worked overtime welding, fabricating and refurbishing the coaches.
