My son, Shawn and his daughter, Kaylee and me took the Halloween Haunted House ride on the steam engine. The journey into the Curriers Depot from Arcade was quite a memorable ride through the country side.

My family and some friends had taken advantage of the seize the deal that you had going on and had taken our first ride on the Arcade and Attica steam train on my sons' birthday. We let the woman playing the guitar know it was his birthday and she gladly came and played for him. It was a great experience and we all loved it. My son was able to enjoy his birthday and was able to get his mind off of the world trade center attack 10th anniversary. Since that happened he doesn't like his birthday it was nice to see him enjoy it this year. Thank you soo much for the memories. We all had a great day on the train.

Riding old 18 was awesome!!! I have gone on the trains since 1997! This year was only my 9th time i have rode on 18! I really hope that you guys will restore old 14 to its fomer glory in a couple of years!! Otherwise she could become a static display! I would cry like no tommorrow! I cant wait until the summer of 2012! I will come back as a 16 year old boy! I have not missed a ride on the A&A! And I dont plan to! Under todays steam rules, #14 will require the same extensive repairs that #18 went through. It would have to be taken down to just the boiler so that the whole structure can be ultrasounded and measured. It suffered from the same thin sheets that 18 had replaced. This is the area around the grates toward the flue sheet inside the fire box. This locomotive also had some pitting in the barrel just ahead of the fire box. In hind sight, it would have been nice if the A&A had started some of the repairs on her long ago. With that said, it is repairable and just requires large sums of money. 18 has over $250,000 into the repairs to this point. It is estimated that 14 could require double that or more. Also, a new tender would have to be fabricated or acquired to run behind one of the locomotives. The tender in use does belong to 14 and was of larger capacity than 18's. In fact, the A&A rebuilt the coal chute to increase the water capacity in it. The remains of 18's tender still are at Arcade. Only a few minor parts will be saved and it serves as only a pattern now.PS: I know all there is to know about the A&A!

I wrote this song for the Arcade & Attica RR:
The Arcade & Attica she's rolling down the line. Thundering throught the valleys and up along the pines. People come from miles around just to ride this line. The Arcade & Attica she is a friend of mine. Freight train she's a rolling down the track. Freight train she's slowly coming back. Ten million tons of steel rolling down the line. Blow that awesome whistle gotta make it on time. They don't know where I'm going. They don't know where I've been. The Arcade & Attica is my famous friend. "ISCA Registered". ? by Edward Earl Suleski
